Minden Community Food Centre Receives $13,400 Donation from 100 Women Who Care Haliburton

The Minden Community Food Centre is incredibly honoured and grateful to have been selected as the recipient of a generous
$13,400 donation from 100 Women Who Care Haliburton.
On
June 17, our team had the privilege of presenting to the members of 100 Women Who Care, sharing the story of the Minden Community Food Centre, the growing demand for our services, and the impact that community support has on individuals and families experiencing food insecurity throughout Haliburton County.
We are deeply thankful that the members chose to invest in our organization and the work we do every day to ensure no one in our community has to face hunger alone.
Following the presentation, we were pleased to welcome many of the members to the Food Centre for the official cheque presentation and a tour of our facility. It was a wonderful opportunity to provide a behind-the-scenes look at our operations, introduce the programs and services we offer, and share how community partnerships help us respond to the increasing need for food assistance.
This generous donation will have an immediate impact.
The funds will help us purchase more nutritious food, including fresh fruits and vegetables, protein options, and other healthy staples that are often the most expensive and difficult to provide. Access to nutritious food is at the heart of our mission, and this support will help ensure the individuals and families who rely on our services have access to healthy, balanced food choices.
As the demand for food assistance continues to grow, community support has never been more important. Every donation we receive stays local, helping provide nutritious food with dignity while supporting the many programs and services offered through the Minden Community Food Centre.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to every member of 100 Women Who Care Haliburton for their generosity, compassion, and commitment to strengthening our community. We are also grateful for the opportunity to share our story and showcase the work of our dedicated staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors.
Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of local families, seniors, and children.
From all of us at the Minden Community Food Centre—thank you for believing in our mission and helping us build a healthier, stronger, and more food-secure community.
